Red FM is playing its part to promote safety on the road.
RED FM is taking an active role in promoting The Buckle Up Road Safety Campaign.
A brainchild of ISM Insurance Services Sdn Bhd’s CEO, Carl Rajendram, this campaign has not only received full support from private corporations, but also from the Malaysian Government. Red FM has been appointed as the official radio station.

Recently, The Buckle Up Road Safety Campaign was launched in Kuala Lumpur by Senator Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun, the Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development.
The campaign’s primary objective is to encourage the habit of fastening seatbelts and child restraints amongst children and women.
Chew stressed on the important role that women and mothers play in a family’s development as well as the progress of the nation’s future generation.
“Women represent more than 33% of private car owners on Malaysian roads and they account for more than 40% of new car sales,” Chew said during the press conference after the launch.
Citing statistics from the Road Safety Council, Chew added that the high number of road accident injuries and deaths in the country has devastating effects on the affected families and the community.
“All this could have been avoided if only they were to fasten their seatbelts. It takes less than five seconds to do so,” she said.
“I personally learnt the importance of buckling up when I had an accident in 2007. Escaping injuries at that time had nothing to do with good luck – it was the seatbelt that saved my life,” Chew added.
“Despite the mandatory use of rear seatbelts since Jan 1, many motorists blatantly ignore the government’s call to put on seatbelts. They just have a ‘it won’t happen to me’ mentality,” ISM Insurance CEO Carl said.
The ISM Buckle Up Campaign has planned numerous activities to generate awareness over the next six months. The campaign, which targets women and schoolchildren, focuses on road safety during the festive period.
